Flexible Integrated Energy Systems (FLEXIS)

World-class energy systems

FLEXIS is a £24 million research project to develop a world-class energy systems research capability in Wales, building on the wealth of expertise that already exists within Welsh universities. The project is led by Cardiff University, Swansea University and the University of South Wales, with Aberystwyth and Bangor universities, plus the British Geological Survey, also participating. Other strategic partners are TATA Steel UK, Swansea Bay City Region and Neath Port Talbot Council.

FLEXIS is focusing on a number of exciting energy developments including carbon capture and hydrogen storage. The project is also tackling pressing issues facing society, such as climate change, rising energy prices and fuel prices.
